Annual Legislative Reception

In addition to these meetings above, the Government Affairs Committee hosts a legislative reception each year in order to bridge gaps between our membership and our elected and non-elected government officials. This year's event was held on March 24 at the Sheraton Harborshide Hotel in Portsmouth.

Annual State House Tour

In order for our members to see first-hand how our state government works, about a dozen Chamber members traveled to Concord Dec. 17, 2002 to tour the State House and Legislative Office Building (where House and Senate policy committees conduct their business) and to meet House and Senate leadership and their local elected officials.

A highlight of this year's trip was a brief meeting with the Senate President, Thomas Eaton, and a historical overview of the New Hampshire State Senate as presented by Senator Bob Clegg, the Senate Majority Leader.

Timothy Fortier, government relations advisor with the McLane Law Firm and with over 17 years of State House experience, led the tour.
